The second Saturday in May is Hunger Task Force's
annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive in conjunction with
local postal workers. Our
church is scheduled to work at the North Shore post
office, which is located on Lydell Avenue one block north of Silver
Spring Drive.
Please mark this date down
on your calendars and sign up to help out on the Bulletin sign-up
sheets the 2 or 3 Sundays prior to the date. Hunger Task Force will
provide sandwiches and drinks. Volunteers, who should be at least
12 years old, unload and sort the food that the letter carriers
bring in from the individual donors on their routes. Our church has
been participating in this event for a number of years now and each
time the volunteers feel it is an enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
