Ongoing
Wesley Room

|
Join us for lively
discussion and open dialogue as we seek to deepen the understanding
of faith and religion through books and multimedia exploration of a
wide range of topics. All adults desiring an open and
respectful discussion of controversial topics are welcome.
This on-going adult
Sunday School class is currently reading Three Cups of Tea:
One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time
by Greg Mortenson.
|
"Three
Cups of Tea is one of the most remarkable adventure
stories of our time. Greg Mortenson’s dangerous and
difficult quest to build schools in the wildest parts of
Pakistan and Afghanistan is not only a thrilling read,
it’s proof that one ordinary person, with the right
combination of character and determination, really can
change the world.” -Tom Brokaw |

Israel and Palestine Richard Whitaker
Christian Education Director
Wesley Room
10:30 to 11:30
Starts Nov 2
|
"The desired peace in the Middle East will come
sooner rather than later as more and more people in our churches,
towns and cities, schools and universities, and the corridors and
offices of our government representatives learn what actually is
happening in lands we call holy" - Reverend Alex Awad
The above quote is taken from the United
Methodist Women School of Christian Mission study entitled Israel -
Palestine and engages participants to follow the history of the
conflict from ancient to current times.
