DISCIPLE CLASSES

The dream of Disciple /Bible Study began over 20 years ago. The vision was for a pastor-directed Bible study for training Christian disciples. Many committed disciples and leaders cooperated in shaping this dream into a viable vision in which over one million people have studied and grown.  Each year we offer at least two Disciple studies. If there is sufficient interest, we will schedule more classes.

Disciple I

Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study

Disciple Bible Study is a 34-week intensive Bible study that will take you through the entire Bible, giving you background information, tools for understanding the text, and insights in how to apply it to your life. You'll be together with 10 to 14 others meeting in homes or at the church. Each day you will have assigned readings in a work book and from the scriptures. When you meet you begin with prayer and then watch a ten-minute video featuring professors from various seminaries across the country. Following this your group discusses the daily readings - the questions raised by them, and the way in which they spoke to you. Each week concludes with sharing joys and concerns and prayer. Your knowledge of the Bible will skyrocket, but more than that, your spiritual life will be deepened as you take this study.

Disciple II:

Into the Word, Into the World

This study includes 32 weeks exploring the books of Genesis-Exodus, and Luke-Acts, and invites you to re-order your life's priorities in response to God's call.

Disciple III:

Remember Who You Are

This 32 week study includes the Prophets and Paul's writings, and encourages the call to be a community of obedience.

Disciple IV:

Under the Tree of Life

This 32 week study includes the Old Testament Writings which are not in the Torah or the Prophets, and the Gospel of John and Revelation. This study taps into the Power of the Psalms and shares the distinctive character of the Gospel of John.

Disciple Study:

Jesus in the Gospels

This 30 week study is a part of the "Disciple Second Generation Studies" which assume your previous participation in some Disciple Bible study and builds upon it. This study focuses on the portraits of Jesus found in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. In this study we look at the ways in which each Gospel writer presents events, and teachings, and the picture of Jesus that emerges in each Gospel. Old Testament readings are included in order to more fully understand the distinctions between the various Gospel accounts.

Disciple Study:

Invitation to Genesis

This 10 week study is a deeper exploration of the book of Genesis and the events recorded there, as we look at the story of Israel.

Disciple Study:

Invitation to the Old Testament

This 8 week study leads to more in-depth information regarding the writing of the Old Testament, and the context in which these stories originated and were recorded.

Disciple Study:

Invitation to Romans

This 8 week study provides an in-depth, high-commitment Bible study. Rather than an introduction this is an invitation to in-depth study of Paul's writings.
