    Christian Marriage

We thank God for the gift of love and especially for the you and your partner have for each other.  Our prayer is that your love and relationship will continue to grow as time goes by.

Marriage is one of the most important commitments made in a lifetime.  In Christian marriage, when you make a covenant with someone, God is a partner in the promise you make before your family and friends.

Your wedding marks the beginning of building a good marriage and is one of the special moments in your life.  The ministers, staff and congregation of the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay are pleased and honor to be part of this important event in your life.  We want to make it a memorable, joyous, and holy event.

    Preparing for Marriage

The officiating pastor will lead you through your premarital sessions. All of our pastors are trained in premarital counseling.  Generally, there are two –three sessions with the pastor.  However, the officiating pastor can share with you his/her expectations.  These sessions can be scheduled any time prior to your wedding.

Included in the sessions is time to get to know one another (pastor and couple), walking through the wedding ceremony, communication skills and styles, conflict resolution, money matters, gender differences and spiritual understanding in marriage to name a few.

There are not any separate fees for premarital counseling.

Once your wedding is scheduled on the calendar, the bride and groom can schedule their premarital sessions by contacting their officiating pastor.
