If you are thinking about establishing a relationship with the
people and programs of UMCWFB.... |
Chances are you’ve already
noticed that this is a unique, vibrant and diverse community of
faith, with lots going on. As a newcomer you no doubt have some
questions about how to find your place in all of this, so we’ve put
together some information to help you begin the process of
Getting Connected at UMCWFB.

Church
“friendship” vs. church “membership” |
Friends of the Church:
Our mission is to be an open and inviting congregation. With the
exception of the upper levels of church leadership, non-members
(“friends”) are welcome to take part in and enjoy the many
opportunities and events that are offered here. Everyone is
encouraged to share his or her gifts, talents and ideas.
Church membership:
An important step taken when you are ready, and feel spiritually
guided, is to take a vow to loyally support this church with “your
prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service.” This is
something that takes some preparation. We strive to make it
possible for everyone to find his or her place in this Family of
God, and to be received into full membership when he or she is ready
to do so. We receive members by affirmation of faith or church
transfer.
|
|
|
|
Membership Transfers |
If you wish to have your existing
church membership transferred to UMCWFB, ask and we will have a
letter of transfer sent to your former church. Members who transfer
are encouraged to attend STEP classes to become familiar with their
new church.
|
|
|
|
This is all meant to be
beneficial for you
|
These steps have been established
and offered to you as recommended guidelines to help you Get
Connected. Those individuals and/or families who feel they need
alternatives are welcome to work out appropriate arrangements with a
pastor or the Director of Evangelism, Dana Saxton.
