The Hunger Committee
sponsors a food drive. Food is put into boxes in the Jones
Narthex. The food is taken to the United Methodist Children's
Services food pantry. Bring nonperishable food to church
and deposit into the boxes in the Narthex. Each month except
November... from the third Sunday through the 4th Sunday. |

"Stamp Out Hunger" Saturday, May 10 |
Saturday, May 10, 2008 is Hunger Task
Force's annual postal workers "Stamp out Hunger" food drive. Our
church is scheduled to work from 1-4 PM at the Shorewood post office
which is located at 3600 N. Holton Ave. Please mark this date down
on your calendars and sign up to help out on the Bulletin sign-up
sheets the 2 or 3 Sundays prior to May 10. Hunger Task Force will
provide sandwiches and drinks. Volunteers, who should be at least
12 years old, unload and sort the food that the letter carriers
bring in from the individual donors on their routes. Our church has
been participating in this event for a number of years now and every
time everyone feels it's an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. |
