ASP
was nothing like I ever expected and it was definitely a once in a
lifetime experience that has taught me a lot. Its something that
everyone should experience and it changes your outlook on life.

APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT (ASP) |
ASP is a great organization whose primary goal is to make homes
warmer, safer, and drier for the people of the Appalachian region of
the US. ASP is so much more than just working on people's
homes though. Lives are transformed when youth from around the
country become the hands and feet of Christ and serve one another
out of His love. THAT is what ASP is all about: serving
others in the name of Christ. |

ASP 2010 |
This year, we are taking 55 high school students and 22 adults to
Floyd County, Kentucky. We will roll out early in the morning
on Saturday, July 10th, and will return for the 10:30am worship
service on Sunday, July 18th. We're looking forward to another
great week of serving God and having Him change our lives through
this experience! Please keep our group in your prayers as we travel
on our journey! |

SUPPORT ASP |
It takes lots of fundraising to make this trip a possibility.
If you'd like to support this year's trip, consider becoming a
stockholder! ASP stock sells for just $10 per share. As
a stockholder, you receive daily email updates from the road.
You will also receive a postcard in the mail from one of the
students on the trip. Lastly, you'll be invited to a reception
when we return to hear all the stories and see all the pictures from
our trip.
If you would like to purchase stock, please send $10 along with
your name, address, and email address to the attention of Melissa
Swanson at the church. Email Melissa (see the info box on the
left) with any questions!

Eyes on the Prize: Racing to Serve
1 Corinthians 9:24 |
Our week in Kentucky is not just about helping people in need.
It's about following the example of Christ and being true servants.
Not only do we need to prepare physically and mentally...we need to
prepare spiritually as well. How can we share Christ with
others, if we aren't prepared ourselves?
Please take a moment to go through
these
discussion questions that will help you spiritually prepare for
our week at ASP. |
