    United Methodist Women

Uniting Women in Service to God

  UMW Mission

United Methodist Women are in mission to women and children in the church, the community and the world.

The purpose of United Methodist Women has always been to fulfill the mission of Christ and His Church. We invite you to be a part of this mission through your prayers, your service and your gifts.

  UMW Circles

Circles are small groups with a variety of interests that meet monthly at various times. Meetings include prayer, devotions, fellowship and opportunities to grow in faith. Circles meet either daytime or evenings, September through May, and contribute to missions through their support of various service projects; including the Fall Holiday Bazaar and Spring Rummage Sale.

  NEW Reading Circle

Tues., May 6 at 7:00 pm

Walnut Room

If you think a United Methodist Women’s circle is for little old ladies – think again!  A great example of what can be is the new Reading Circle – that’s their name – and they have been reading and chatting their way through an impressive list of great books.  They usually gather the first Tuesday, but April will be on the 8th – the second Tuesday – at 7 pm in the warm & welcoming Walnut Room to share their thoughts and experiences for the book they have all just read.  Join the over dozen women to share Same Kind of Different as Me by Hall & Denver Moore on  April 8th and The Lemon Tree by Sandy Tolan on May 6st.   Pick up a copy and join the enthusiasm with the Reading Circle.  Contact Beth @ 332-9405 for more information.  Everyone welcome!

  Focus Mission Basket

UMW Special Collection

Located in the Jones Narthex (church lobby)

It is said that “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.  In the month of April – as you begin your spring cleaning, pick up an extra bottle or two of your favorite cleaner and share with the mothers of UMCS’ Transitional Living Program.  This inovative and life-changing program has helped dozens of mothers and their children as they strive to learn life skills in caring for home and family.  Fill the Focus Mission Basket, located in the Jones Narthex, with cleaning supplies and put another on the path to “Godliness”.
