A WORD ABOUT YOUR CHURCH FINANCES
Our stewardship campaign does not emphasize a budget or target a pre-determined fund raising goal. Rather, the emphasis of the campaign is on giving as a spiritual discipline that is our response to God’s grace and an integral part of our relationship with Him. Nevertheless, a brief word about how your church finances its ministries is in order. UMCWFB operates on a pay as you go system. The work we are able to do, the missions we support, the building we maintain, the services we offer and the staff we compensate happens only when our members annually make financial pledges, fulfill those pledges and, as they are able, increase those pledges. This current year, our church has an operating budget in excess of $1,000,000 which distributes across the broad general areas of ministry as follows:
INVITE:
Reaching out into the community to invite others to share with us the joy of Christ (6%)
CELEBRATE: Worship is central in our life together as a congregation (21%)
CARE: Congregational care; Ministries with children, youth, families and adults (36%)
GROW: Spiritual formation, growth and practice (14%)
SERVE: Helping others in need within the church, across the state, nation and around the world (23%)
