Congregational Care Ministries

When you or a family member face a life crisis, your church is prepared to help you through it! As needs of individuals or families are identified (whether they be sudden or planned, short-term or long-term situations), your church responds by calling upon a core of volunteers to act as agents of Christ’s love and compassion in response to those needs. These caring church members truly share with others the love and peace of our Lord.

    Hospital Visitation

Mon-Fri, as needed

Rotating Pastors and lay people

Pastors and lay staff visit members of the congregation who are hospitalized or in rehabilitation facilities.  Visitation is done on Monday through Friday on a rotating basis, once the church office has been notified of the hospitalization. If you have an upcoming hospitalization scheduled, please notify the church office in advance so we can pray for you and visit you in a timely manner.

    Companion Ministry

A companion is someone who visits and  is compassionate and caring towards one older adult that is homebound.  Companions will visit their homebound member about once/week for 1-2 hours depending upon the personal situation.

    Worship Attendance

Weekly Follow-up

As your church we covenant to care for you, so we monitor attendance weekly to help us know who may be missing from worship.  After a period of absence and telephone calls are made to determine if there are needs for congregational care ministries. If you receive such a contact or call, please understand that it is out of our desire to care for you that we are inquiring about your well-being.

    Casserole Ministry

As Requested

Casseroles can be provided to members for help and comfort after hospitalization or at other difficult times.  To arrange for a casserole delivery, contact the church office.

    Flower Delivery

Christmas & Easter

Shut-ins

Delivery of floral plants at Christmas and Easter assures our homebound members that their church remembers them and celebrates these special times of the Christian year with them.

Shawl and Handkerchief Ministry

As Requested

Shawls knit or sewn by volunteers are given to those in need of spiritual comfort during times of illness, loss or stress, as a tangible symbol of heartfelt prayers offered on behalf of the recipient. Supplies and instructions for making shawls are available at no charge to anyone who would like to make them. Monetary donations to this ministry are welcome, to help cover the cost of supplies.
