Book Study
Ending Hunger Now: A Challenge to Persons of Faith
Susan Patterson-Sumwalt
Senior Pastor
Wednesday evenings
Oct 1 - Oct 29
Location TBA
|
The book, written by Don
Messer, George McGovern and Bob Dole, takes a look at one of the
fundamental issues in our world today – hunger. Here alone in
Milwaukee, we are aware of the great need to feed all ages,
particularly children. Food resources from the government have
declined, the economy has worsened with food, gas, and housing
prices skyrocketing, and the depth of poverty still haunts us as
a city. In this study we will take a look at this issue from a
faith perspective in conversation with both the needs of our
community and the world.
Dr. Don Messer will be speaking
to us about the Church and the Millennium Development Goals the
weekend of September 26-28. One of these eight goals is the
eradication of hunger in the world. We will continue to look at
the ways we can work toward fulfilling this goal.
Books are available in the
church office.
