Kairos meets monthly for a bring- your-own-bag lunch on third Sunday of the month from noon to 2 pm in the Wesley room.  Several Kairos members walked this fall in the city-wide AIDS Walk at the lakefront and will do so again in fall 2008.  Currently we are considering a mission statement to become a designated "reconciling" small group within the United Methodist Reconciling Ministries Network.  Co-facilitators of Kairos are Dr. Mary Lou Taylor and Richard Whitaker.  When you see any one of us wearing a rainbow sticker on our nametags, stop and talk with us.  We will answer questions and urge you to visit our monthly gatherings. We welcome everyone into this fellowship!

A 8-week ecumenical welcoming Bible Study on Homosexuality led by Director of Christian Education, Richard Whitaker.  The study helps identify assumptions about Biblical authority and interpretation, examines Biblical texts that portray gay and lesbian persons negatively, and explores all from the framework of God's liberating message of justice, love, freedom in Christ.   All senior high and adult members are invited to join us for this study, and books can be purchased in the office for $6.00
