The University was founded in 1992
by the United Methodist Church. The almost 1200 students
represent 24 nationalities from all over Africa. The
University offers hope to very impoverished young men and women.

UMCOR - United Methodist Committee on Relief

Focus: Financial Assistance

The committee concentrates on four Rs: Relief, Rehabilitation,
Refugee Resettlement, and Renewal of life. UMCOR is "on the
spot" immediately after a disaster. All funds donated to UMCOR
go directly to the specific projects and the people in need.
Special offerings are taken as disasters around the world call for
them. The annual Thanksgiving offering is taken for UMCOR.
There is also a special endowment fund set up for UMCOR. |

Located in Beverly, Kentucky, it reaches out to the remote,
low-income, rural, mountainous areas of six southeastern Kentucky
counties. Thirteen full-time resident pastors serve 24 small
communities and provide opportunities for worship, Christian
nurture, fellowship, and service to people of all ages. In
cooperation with local and state agencies, the mission provides
education opportunities including an early childhood development
program, two elementary schools, and a high school. |
