Church Camp

June 15-18, 2008

We had an absolute BLAST at church camp!  This year's theme was "Handle With Care."  Here is a recap of what we talked about:

Day One--We talked about God's creation in the book of Genesis.  We looked at everything God created just before he created us.  We had a nature scavenger hunt and took some time to appreciate the wonderful world God created for us! 

Day Two--It's all about relationship.  We looked at the day when God created us!  Adam was lonely, and so God created Eve.  This tells us that God wants us to be in relationships.  He wants us to have a relationship with Him, He wants us to care for each other, and He wants us to respect the rest of creation!  We looked at what the Bible said about our role in God's creation as well.

Day Three--It's about what we do!  It's not enough to say that we love God, care for one another, and want to take care of our environment...we have to put our words into ACTION!  We looked at the parable of the three servants found in Matthew 25 (check it out!).  We learned that we can choose to do nothing with the gifts God gave us, we can use them a little bit, or we can fully use them to glorify God.  How are we using (or misusing) the gift of creation God gave us??
