    Appalachia Service Project

Appalachia Service Project, Inc. (ASP) is a Christian ministry, open to all people, that fosters human development by addressing the housing needs of Central Appalachia.

ASP's Mission Statement

  APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT (ASP)

ASP is a great organization whose primary goal is to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for the people of the Appalachian region of the US.  ASP is so much more than just working on people's homes though.  Lives are transformed when youth from around the country become the hands and feet of Christ and serve one another out of His love.  THAT is what ASP is all about:  serving others in the name of Christ.

ASP 2010 The summer of 2010 we took eleven 15-passenger vans and cruised over to Floyd County, Kentucky.  There were 55 excited high school students and 21 dedicated adult volunteers in our fleet.  We worked hard in the 100+ degree weather to impact the lives of those around us.  We truly saw God at work in many many different ways throughout the week.  If you'd like more information about the organization of ASP, visit their website!

SUPPORT ASP It takes a lot of financial support to make the trip to Appalachia a possibility every summer.  We never want the cost to be a reason that a student cannot come on this life-changing trip.  Stay tuned for fundraisers throughout the year that support ASP!

You are always welcome to make a contribution toward the trip, even when there are no fundraisers scheduled.  Simply make a check out to UMCWFB and write ASP trip in the memo line!
