2008 Backpack Project

Help us fill 200 backpacks with school supplies for children at Solomon Community Temple UMC/Sidewalk Sunday School, Rising Sun Camp (for children whose parents are incarcerated), Emmanuel United Methodist Church on W. Silver Spring Drive, JOY House Shelter at Milwaukee Rescue Mission, and Hope House Shelter. We need all sorts of items and you can pick up a shopping list in the narthex.

Donations will be collected in Summer Sunday School and in the narthex collection box until August 14.  On August 15 there will be a pizza party to assemble the collected supplies into backpacks to be delivered for the start of school.

No time to shop?  No problem!  Your $25 will provide all the necessary sulies, inppcluding a backpack.  Drop off your monetary donation at the church office and mark "Backpack Project" in the memo section.

Questions?  Contact Betsy Fruncek at betsy.fruncek@gmail.com or Paula Braam at paula.marie.braam@medtronic.com.
